Brian Dubie conquers Facebook

Dubie

If this year's election was held only on Facebook, Republican Brian Dubie would be the clear winner.

His campaign announced Tuesday that it had hit 7,5000 fans on his official Facebook page. Of course, some of them might not be voters or Vermont residents, but he has outpaced his Democratic rivals in the world of social media politics.

But then you also get odd comments like this one:

BRIAN UR THE MAN and cant wait for u to be the NEXTED GOVERNER OF VERMONT U HAVE MY VOTE

Maybe it is a statement on the quality of Vermont's public schools?

  1. I cannot believe the Brian Dubie campaign either released a press release or otherwise are making such a huge fuss over something so trivial.
Makes one wonder if, since his gubernatorial campaign has recently linked to the Vermont Watch ‘Sampling Old Fashioned McPolitics Route 302 Style’ blog post on its Website news page, should I then issue a press release and make a huge fuss concerning it as well?
    I should think not!
(that said, tweeting a sarcastic tweet as well as posting a parody-laced comment about it all it might deserve).

  2. Dan,
Did you really need to take a dig at Vermont’s public schools because of a comment on a social networking site? As you well know, the men and women teaching Vermont’s children have helped propel our students to some of the best academic performance in the country.
    All the best,
    Darren
