Candidates have until 5 this evening to file their latest round of campaign-finance disclosures, and many will wait until the last minute. But it’s barely after 10 a.m.and TJ Donovan is first out of the gate with his haul for the past month.
The second-term state’s attorney took in $37,261 over the last 30 days, bringing his total for the cycle to $166,971 – in a down-ticket primary.
Donovan, up with a new radio ad, has about $54,000 on hand as the race begins its mad dash toward the Aug. 28 finish line.
Sorrell has yet to unveil his fundraising totals – the seven-term incumbent had taken only $92,000 to Donovan’s $129,000 as of last month. But Sorrell has had a little help from his friends at the Democratic Attorney’s General Association, which is underwriting a $99,000 TV campaign. The mass-media features a 30-second spot in which Howard Dean sings the praises of his old friend.
Stay tuned for more numbers as they trickle in.
