Jack Lindley, the chairman of the Vermont Republican Party, has been hospitalized in critical condition after falling ill late last week..
The Vermont GOP issued a press release late this morning announcing that Deborah Bucknam, vice-chairman of the Republican State Committee, will take over as chairman “until Jack is able to return to his normal schedule.”
Mark Snelling, a close friend of Lindley’s and an active member of the party, said the family wished to keep private the particulars of Lindley’s condition.
Lindley is being treated at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Hanover, where his wife and other family members have gathered. Lindley, who runs a small insurance firm, has five grown sons.
