Shumlin outraises Brock 3-to-1, widens financial advantage

The rich got richer today as Gov. Peter Shumlin widened his already considerable financial edge over Republican Randy Brock. According to paperwork about to be filed by the Shumlin campaign, the Democratic incumbent raked in about $160,000 over the last month.

Compare that to Brock, who according to documents sent to media outlets a few miuntes ago raised only $55,000.

The difference between cash on hand is even more stark for Brock. Shumlin has $769,000 in the bank. Brock has about $237,000.

Definitely bad news for a Republican underdog looking to light a fire under his longshot bid for governor.
