Trailing Bernie: New polls show more Sanders gains

pair of new NBC/Marist polls shows more good news for Sen. Bernie Sanders in his primary showdown with Hillary Clinton. The polls, released Sunday, show Sanders, the 73-year-old self-described democratic socialist with a 9 point lead in New Hampshire. According to the new poll, Sanders has the support of 41 percent of Democratic voters in the Granite State, where the nation’s first primary will be held next year. Clinton, the former first lady, secretary of state and New York senator, tallied 32 percent. ew poll numbers in Iowa show a tightening race for the Democratic Party’s nomination for president. Sen. Bernie Sanders has cut a previously massive lead in Iowa for Hillary Clinton to just seven points, according to a new poll released this week in the Hawkeye state. Sanders, the 73-year-old self-described democratic socialist continues to surprise the political world with his steady rise in the polls. A poll released Saturday by the Des Moines Register and Bloomberg Politics found Sanders with 30 percent support in Iowa.
